
Crowned as the fastest athlete of the third Youth Commonwealth Games, Shehan Ambepitiya who won three Gold medals was welcomed at the airport by Sports Minister Bandula Basnayake.
Director of Sports Mr B Dahanayake, Chaiman of the Sri Lankan Athletic Association Major General Palitha Fernando, Secretary Prema Pinnawela, A R T Alles of Gateway College and the proud parents of Shehan Ambepitiya were at the airport to greet him.
The Commonwealth games whichwas held with the participation of 1300 athletes from 71 countries ended on the 18th of October.
The fourth Youth Commonwealth Games will be held in the island of Mayne in the year 2011.
Sri Lanka gained the 9th place of the ranking by winning three Gold medals.
